About Wee Friends Child Care Center
A Journey of Development
At Wee Friends Child Care Center, we believe that early childhood is a journey, not a race or a contest. When you enroll your child in one of our centers, you place a tremendous amount of trust in us.
We understand that, and we can assure you that your child will be cared for by a loving staff that is committed to your child's total development. Our programs encourage the development of IQ (intelligence quotient) as well as EQ (emotional quotient). Your child will participate in an atmosphere of acceptance in which his or her uniqueness is respected. We'll set goals for a successful learning environment.
Wee Friends Child Care Centers have served the Oakland County area with pride since 1987. We offer a quality education program in a safe and secure environment. Our care centers are licensed by the state of Michigan and are members of the Oakland County Child Care Council (4Cs) and the Michigan Association for Child Care Providers (MACCP).
A young child's strongest ties are to his or her family and caregivers. When a child has a supportive and cooperative relationship exists between the child, the parents, and the teachers and caregivers, the most important aspects of learning can take place.
We take pride in a strong record of staff retention and forming productive partnerships with parents. We respect the uniqueness and needs of each family. You'll see that our dedicated, loving staff is committed to building and nurturing the individual relationship between each child and his or her home and family. Our care center is a supportive, optimistic extension of that home.
In our care centers, you'll find educated, trained, experienced teachers and caregivers who each bring a unique aspect with them. Our program is designed to allow them the freedom and flexibility to share their individual talents. We help your child bridge from early childhood to school with a variety of opportunities to acquire math, reading, and language skills.
Our teaching styles incorporate a blend of philosophies and practices without adhering to any singular trend. Your child will thrive in a program that balances teacher-initiated activities with child-directed activities and addresses the individual learning style of each child.
Conscientious Care From a Highly Trained Staff
For your child's safety, all of the staff members at Wee Friends Child Care Center have been trained in the following:
- CPR
- First aid
- Blood-borne pathogens
- Shaken baby syndrome
- Infant safe sleep
- 16 hours of continuing education training per year required by the State of Michigan
- Fire / natural disaster safety
Some staff members have additional specialized training.
Our staff builds a strong education background for every child. Our high standards ensure that our staff is well educated.
- Our Directors and Preschool / Pre-Kindergarten Teachers have bachelor's and / or associate degrees or CDAs in Early Childhood Education.
- Nursery School Teachers have associate degrees or CDAs in Early Childhood Education.
- All of our staff working with ages below 2 1/2 years has their Infant / Toddler certification.
